1,000 Cars Stuck in Heavy Snow in Central Japan

Fukui- Some 1,000 cars were stuck in heavy snow on National Route 8 in Fukui Prefecture, central Japan, Tuesday, prefectural officials said.
The prefectural government asked for disaster relief operations by the Self-Defense Forces.
No reports of injuries or sick people have been made, according to the local river and national highway office.
The cars were held up on a section between the city of Sakai and the city of Awara, the prefectural officials said. Jiji Press
