2 men stabbed on Kyoto street, one fatally

Kyoto- Two men were stabbed, one fatally, on a street in a residential area in the western Japan city of Kyoto on Sunday afternoon.
Masaki Ikai, 27, from the neighboring city of Otsu, Shiga Prefecture, was stabbed on his right chest and confirmed dead after being taken to hospital. A 45-year-old self-employed man, also from Otsu, suffered a serious injury from a cut on his left arm, but the injury is not life-threatening.
The man who stabbed them fled the scene of the incident.
He later turned himself in to the Osaka prefectural police department, and the Kyoto prefectural police department arrested the suspect, Masakatsu Nakamura, on charges of attempted murder.
The Kyoto police suspect that Nakamura, 50, stabled the 45-year-old man on his left arm in an attempt to kill him at around 2:55 p.m. (5:55 a.m. GMT).
The suspect admitted the charges, according to the Kyoto police.
The police will also investigate him n murder charges.
A 24-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman who were with the victims told the police that they had problems in their relationships with Nakamura. They were attacked by the suspect soon after getting off a minivan to visit his home for talks.
The woman and the suspect are former colleagues.
