2020 Tokyo Games to Use Electricity from Renewable Sources

Tokyo- The 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games will use electricity from renewable sources, the organizing committee said Monday.

The committee set a goal of having all electricity needed for competition venues, the athlete village, the international broadcasting center and the main press center come from renewable sources.

The organizing committee also set a goal of using rented or leased items for 99 pct of goods to be procured for the Tokyo Games to prevent a waste of resources. Jiji Press
