June 7, 2018
Tokyo- Five flight attendants on an Air Japan plane have been injured due to sudden braking during taxiing at an airport in Vietnam's Ho Chi Minh City, according to the transport ministry.
One of the crew members suffered bone fracture in the lower back while the others had minor wounds in the accident on Wednesday, the ministry said the same day, adding all 197 passengers were unhurt.
According to the ministry, the Boeing 767 jet operated by the ANA Holdings Inc. group carrier was braked hard while proceeding on a taxiway at the airport for taking off to Narita International Airport near Tokyo. The aircraft was carrying 11 crew members and the passengers.
As the captain found the situation not serious enough to halt the flight operation, the plane continued its service and arrived at Narita later in the day.
The Vietnamese aviation authority would decide whether to investigate the accident, the ministry noted. Jiji Press
