6 Bodies Found at Private Home in Miyazaki

Miyazaki--Police discovered six bodies at a private home in the town of Takachiho, Miyazaki Prefecture, southwestern Japan, on Monday, and launched an investigation over the suspected murders.

Later on the day, a person was found floating in a nearby river. The police are working to identify the individual, believing he may be the oldest son of the head of the family who lived in the house.

The prefectural police department received a call around 10:20 a.m. (1:20 a.m. GMT) from a relative of the residents of the house. The relative claimed to be unable to make contact with them.

Following the call, the police found a woman lying outside the house and three men and two women inside the house around 11 a.m. They were all dead, with some thought to have wounds, according to investigative sources.

The six are believed to have been residents of the house, the sources said. Jiji Press
