Fukushima--Seven bodies were discovered after a fire burned down a house in the town of Ono, Fukushima Prefecture, northeastern Japan, late Wednesday night.
Police and other authorities are working to identify the bodies, believing that the victims are likely to be seven of the nine residents of the house in a rural area about 3 kilometers from the town hall.
The seven--Tsuneyoshi Shiota, 61, his mother, 81, his eldest daughter, 30, and the daughter's four children from three to eight years old--are unaccounted for after the fire, which occurred around 11:05 p.m. (2:05 p.m. GMT) and was put out about an hour later.
Shiota's wife, 57, fled the fire, suffering light injuries to her hands. The daughter's husband, 33, was absent for work. Jiji Press
