7 hurt as car runs into pedestrians in Tokyo’s Kichijoji

TOKYO- A car driven by an 85-year-old man ran into pedestrians on a crosswalk in the Kichijoji district of Musashino, Tokyo, on Friday afternoon, injuring seven of them, including a two-year-old boy.
The seven were sent to hospital. None of them suffered life-threatening injuries, according to police and other sources.
The police arrested the driver, Junji Sanada, from Koganei, next to Musashino, at the site of the accident, which happened around 2 p.m. (5 a.m. GMT), on suspicion of negligent driving resulting in injuries. Jiji Press
