Abe Cabinet public support rebounds to 36.6%: Jiji poll
August 10, 2017
TOKYO- Public support for Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's cabinet rebounded 6.7 percentage points in August from a month before to 36.6 percent, after falling below 30 percent in the previous month, a Jiji Press survey revealed Thursday.
The higher approval rating for the Abe cabinet is believed to be partly due to the prime minister's reshuffle of his cabinet and the ruling Liberal Democratic Party leadership team on Aug. 3, experts said.
The disapproval rating for the Abe cabinet fell 4.5 points to 44.1 percent, according to the latest survey, conducted over four days through Sunday. Jiji Press
