Abe, Maas Agree to Strengthen Economic Ties

Tokyo- Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas Wednesday agreed to further strengthen economic ties between their countries.
During their meeting in the prime minister's office in Tokyo, Abe told Maas that last week's signing of the economic partnership agreement between Japan and the European Union demonstrated their commitment to the multilateral trade system.
Maas said he wants to underscore to the world the importance of free trade. Abe and Maas also discussed issues related to North Korea. Jiji Press
