Abe pledges support over Rohingya crisis

Manila- Japan's Prime Minister Shinzo Abe emphasized on Tuesday the country's intention to help Myanmar better cope with the refugee crisis involving the Rohingya Muslim minority in the Southeast Asian country.
At a meeting with Aung San Suu Kyi, state counsellor and de facto leader of Myanmar, in Manila, Abe said that he is deeply concerned about the problem and that the Japanese government is ready to offer as much support as possible for the Myanmarese government's efforts to improve the situation.
Suu Kyi showed expectations, saying that humanitarian assistance and support related to electricity and road infrastructure will contribute to peace and stability for Rohingya people in the state of Rakhine. Jiji Press
