Abe, Trump to Meet in N.Y. on Wednesday

Tokyo- Japan's Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and U.S. President Donald Trump will hold a meeting in New York on Wednesday, Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga said Friday.
At a press conference, Suga said that Abe will leave for the U.S. city on Sunday and stay there until Thursday. Abe will have dinner with Trump on Sunday.
The bilateral summit between Abe and Trump will be the first since the two leaders met in Washington in June just ahead of a summit of the Group of Seven major industrial nations in Canada.
At the coming meeting, Abe and Trump are expected to reconfirm their countries' cooperation for the complete denuclearization of North Korea and discuss trade issues, informed sources said.
On Tuesday, Abe is slated to deliver a speech during the general debate at the U.N. General Assembly session.
He may also hold bilateral meetings with other national leaders participating in the General Assembly session, including South Korean President Moon Jae-in. Jiji Press
