Accurate Nankai Trough quakes prediction impossible: panel
August 26, 2017
TOKYO- A Japanese government advisory panel on disaster management said in a report on Friday that it is impossible to predict with high accuracy massive earthquakes occurring along the Nankai Trough in the Pacific Ocean off central to southwestern Japan.
The report, wrapped up at the day's meeting of a working group of the disaster management council, called for a review of measures against so-called Tokai quakes that have been prescribed in a relevant special law based on predictions of such quakes. Jiji Press
