All 54 Chiba municipalities eligible for recovery aid
October 15, 2019
Chiba--The prefectural government of Chiba said Tuesday all 54 municipalities in the prefecture are eligible for subsidies to help residents hit hard by Typhoon Faxai, which landed in the Kanto eastern Japan region last month.
It will provide rebuilding grants of up to 3 million yen, mainly to households that were destroyed or seriously damaged in the year's 15th typhoon.
The amount of financial aid will be determined in line with the level of the damage and households' means to rebuild their homes.
The owners of homes that were severely damaged by Typhoon Hagibis, the 19th typhoon of the year, will receive financial aid as well.
The prefectural government initially allowed nine municipalities, including the city of Tateyama, to apply for the recovery program after the 15th typhoon.
However, it expanded the scope of the aid to all municipalities in the prefecture as over 100 households were confirmed destroyed. Jiji Press
