Kyoto--Police have completed autopsies on the 34 bodies recovered from the scene of last week's arson attack on a studio of Kyoto Animation Co., called KyoAni by anime fans, finding that 27 of the victims were burned to death.
Of the seven others, four died of carbon monoxide poisoning, and two were suffocated, according to police sources. The cause of the remaining one's death could not be identified.
The Kyoto prefectural police are working to identify the victims promptly, including through DNA examinations. Many of the victims are believed to be KyoAni workers who were in their 20s or 30s. Jiji Press
