TOKYO- Business sentiment in Japan improved for the fifth straight month in October, led by the manufacturing sector on brisk exports, a private-sector survey showed Monday.
The business sentiment diffusion index rose 0.7 point from the previous month to 49.1, Teikoku Databank Ltd. said in the survey, conducted for two weeks to the end of October.
The Japanese economy is likely to stay on a recovery path, gaining support not only from strong foreign demand but also from a pickup in domestic demand, the credit research firm said. Jiji Press
