Dentsu faces summary indictment over illegal overtime

Tokyo- The Tokyo District Public Prosecutors Office has brought a summary indictment against Dentsu Inc. on suspicion of violating the labor standards law over illegal overtime at the leading Japanese ad agency, informed sources said Thursday.
Four senior Dentsu officials on whom papers were sent to prosecutors for the same allegations escaped indictment, the sources said.
The decisions marked an end to criminal investigations into the overwork problem at Dentsu, which came to light following the high-profile overwork-triggered suicide in December 2015 of Matsuri Takahashi, a 24-year-old first-year female employee at the company. (Jiji Press)
