Tokyo- Yukio Edano, head of the main opposition Constitutional Democratic Party of Japan, has denied the idea of strengthening its cooperation with the Japanese Communist Party in national elections.
In the next House of Councillors election in 2019, the CDPJ will cooperate with the JCP in the same way as in the Oct. 22 House of Representatives election, Edano said in an interview on Wednesday.
Edano's party, launched by defectors from the Democratic Party just before the Lower House poll, adjusted candidates with other opposition parties. Jiji Press
