The shooting of Masaaki Hayama, 67, occurred around 8:30 p.m. Monday (11:30 p.m. GMT) in Sacoma area, southern Sao Paulo, according to public security authorities in the state of Sao Paulo.
Hayama noticed a suspicious car that stopped in front of his house while having dinner with his family, police and other sources said. As two men got off the car, the victim tried to lock the door but was shot.
