Fire Ants Found at Narita Airport

Tokyo- Some 160 fire ants have been found at Narita International Airport near Tokyo, the first discovery of the venomous insect at an airport in Japan, the Environment Ministry said Tuesday.
The ants were discovered Sunday from a cargo that arrived from Dallas Fort Worth International Airport. This also marked the first fire ant arrival in Japan from the United States.
The fire ants, all worker ants, were killed by insecticides on Monday. No damage from the ants has been reported. Jiji Press
