Bangkok- Thaksin Shinawatra and his younger sister, Yingluck, both former Thai prime ministers in exile, are visiting Japan, it has been learned.
On Thursday, they attended a party in Tokyo for celebrating the launch of a book by former Japanese home affairs minister Hajime Ishii, informed sources said.
Ishii, who has been acquainted with Thaksin and Yingluck, invited them to the party, according to the sources.
The two fugitives are slated to move on to China after the Japan visit, sources in the pro-Thaksin Pheu Thai Party said.
Thaksin and Yingluck visited countries including Japan and China also in February.
Yingluck fled Thailand in August last year ahead of a verdict on her by the country's supreme court in a neglect of duty case. Since then, she has been living outside the country with Thaksin, who was ousted from power in a military coup in 2006. Jiji Press
