Heavy snowfall to continue in Eastern, Northern Japan

Tokyo- Heavy snowfall is forecast to continue across wide areas of the Kanto-Koshin eastern Japan region, which includes Tokyo, and the Tohoku northeastern region until early Tuesday morning, the Japan Meteorological Agency said Monday.
Snowfall is expected to peak during Monday evening rush hour in the Kanto-Koshin region and the Pacific side of Tohoku, the agency said.
East Japan Railway Co. , or JR East, said train services may be disrupted or canceled due to the snow.
Japan Airlines has decided to cancel some flights using Tokyo International Airport at Haneda.
All Nippon Airways is bracing for delays and cancellations for some flights using Haneda and Narita International Airport near Tokyo and Sendai International Airport in Miyagi Prefecture in Tohoku.
In the 24 hours to Tuesday noon, up to 30 centimeters of snowfall is forecast in northern Kanto and Nagano Prefecture, 20 centimeters in southern Kanto and Yamanashi Prefecture, and 10 centimeters in central Tokyo's 23 wards. Jiji Press
