IT firms promoting voice artificial intelligence systems

TOKYO- Information technology companies at home and abroad are stepping up projects to develop artificial intelligence-based smart speakers and related services, in step with the advent of the Internet of Things.

With a variety of home electronics, vehicles and other items connected in the IoT, the user-friendliness of such devices and related services holds the key to the widespread use of the networking system.

Voice-based AI technology, which understands colloquial words, enables users to operate devices by speech and use services such as online shopping and access to weather forecasts and news reports.
