Tokyo--Japanese and Chinese ministers agreed at a meeting Monday to promote private-sector exchanges in sports next year.
The ministers decided to capitalize on the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics to this end at the "high-level dialogue" meeting in Tokyo, cochaired by Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi and his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi.
They also reaffirmed the plan to make the meeting for human and cultural interactions an annual event to be held reciprocally in Japan and China.
At a press conference after the meeting, Wang said the participants shared broad-based views over the development of new Sino-Japan relations. Jiji Press
