Japan Crown Prince Visits Museum in Lyon

Lyon, France- Japanese Crown Prince Naruhito on Saturday visited a textile museum in Lyon, the first stop in his first official trip to France.
The museum has a collection of three million items, including traditional French dresses and Japanese Edo-period kimono.
As he inspected displayed items, he asked an attendant how textile-related technologies have been succeeded.
Seeing traces of influence from Japanese culture in textiles made in Lyon, the Crown Prince said Japan and France have stimulated each other as they deepen their relations.
In the evening, the Crown Prince had a meeting with French people with some connection with Japan and representatives of Japanese residents in France.
Participants in the session also included Saki Kumagai, captain of Japanese women's national soccer team. Crown Prince Naruhito said he wishes her even greater success.
He also attended a dinner session hosted by Interior Minister Gerard Collomb.
In the morning, the Crown Prince visited a school giving supplementary classes that is attended mainly by Japanese children living in and near the city. Jiji Press
