Tokyo--Japanese Defense Minister Taro Kono said Friday that he will visit Djibouti and Oman for four days through Monday.
During the trip, Kono will hold talks with his counterparts and other officials of the two counties to explain Japan's plan to dispatch Self-Defense Forces members to the Middle East on a mission to boost information-gathering to help ensure sea lane safety in the region.
In Djibouti, he is slated to meet with SDF members engaged in an antipiracy mission off Somalia. Jiji Press
