Tokyo- Japanese Defense Minister Itsunori Onodera and his Estonian counterpart, Juri Luik, agreed on Sunday to strengthen the two nations' cyber defense cooperation, Japan's Defense Ministry said the same day.
The two ministers reached the accord at their meeting in Estonia, according to the ministry.
The North Atlantic Treaty Organization has its cyber defense cooperation center in Tallinn, the capital of Estonia. The Baltic country has sophisticated expertise in the field of cybersecurity.
In January, the Japanese government obtained approval for its participation in the center.
Onodera told Luik that Japan hopes to further enhance its cooperation with Estonia by sending officials of his ministry to the cyber defense center.
Luik responded by saying that Estonia welcomes Japan's participation. Jiji Press
