Japan, Germany to expand security cooperation in Indo-Pacific

Munich--Japanese Foreign Minister Taro Kono and his German counterpart, Heiko Maas, agreed Saturday that their countries will strengthen security cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region.
The ministers, meeting in Munich on the sidelines of an international security conference, agreed on the importance of making the region free and open.
Kono and Maas also confirmed that their countries will work together to ensure a success of a Group of 20 summit set for June in Osaka, western Japan.
They also agreed that the international community should cooperate in efforts to denuclearize North Korea.
Kono later held talks with the foreign ministers of Slovenia, Spain and Slovakia separately. Jiji Press
