Japan Govt Debts Rise to Record 1,091 T. Yen at End-Sept.

Tokyo--The balance of Japanese government debts came to a record high of 1,091,768.5 billion yen at the end of September, up by 2,783.4 billion yen from three months before, the Ministry of Finance said Friday.
The figure is equivalent to 8.78 million yen for each person in Japan, based on the country's population of 124.35 million as of May 1.
The debts are the combined amount of government bonds, borrowings and financing bills.
Of the total, government bonds accounted for 966,127.6 billion yen, up 3,862.1 billion yen.
The balance of loans taken out by the government rose 271.3 billion yen to 52,492.1 billion yen, while that of financing bills decreased by 1,350 billion yen to 73,148.8 billion yen. Jiji Press
