Japan Launches New Office to Share Terror Information

Tokyo- The Japanese government launched a new office Wednesday to strengthen its ability to gather and analyze terrorism-related information toward the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics.
The new office is designed to allow the National Police Agency, the Public Security Intelligence Agency, the Foreign Ministry and eight other government agencies to share information to prevent terror attacks from happening.
"In order to implement counterterrorism measures effectively, government agencies need to work together to share and analyze information quickly," Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga said at an inauguration ceremony for the office.
The office is made up of a dozen of officials. Its location and other details have been withheld due to concern about possible terror attacks. Jiji Press
