Japan Names 4 New Ambassadors

Tokyo- The Japanese government decided at a cabinet meeting Tuesday on the appointments of new ambassadors to Cameroon, the Marshall Islands, Ethiopia and Sri Lanka, effective Thursday.
The post of ambassador to Cameroon will be filled by Tsutomu Osawa, 61, former permanent representative to international organizations in Vienna and former consul-general in Shenyang.
Norio Saito, 62, will become Japan's top diplomat in the Marshall Islands. He took up the current post of consul-general in Guangzhou after serving as consul-general in Qindao and counsellor at the embassy in Beijing.
Daisuke Matsunaga, 62, currently consul-general in Edinburgh, will move to Ethiopia as ambassador. He has been consul-general in Hong Kong and Dubai.
Akira Sugiyama, 57, will be ambassador to Sri Lanka. He has served as minister at the permanent mission to the United Nations in New York, as well as head of the Yamagata prefectural police and chief of protocol at the Foreign Ministry. Jiji Press
