Japan Princess Kako Finishes Her Study in Britain
June 12, 2018
Leeds, Britain- Japanese Princess Kako, a granddaughter of Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko, has completed a study program at the University of Leeds in Britain.
The second daughter of Prince Akishino and Princess Kiko will return to Japan on Friday.
On Monday, Princess Kako participated in a photo session at a university theater, a familiar place for the 23-year-old princess, who took many performing arts classes in the program.
During the session, the princess, wearing a blue dress and a black jacket, listened to the explanations about performing arts from Alan Langlands, the university's vice-chancellor, and Alice O'Grady, head of the School of Performance and Cultural Industries at the university, with an eager look and sometimes smiles on her face.
The princess left Japan in September last year to study at the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Cultures at the university in West Yorkshire, England, as an exchange student from International Christian University in Tokyo.
She completed all curriculum requirements, including exams, in early June, according to the Imperial Household Agency. On holidays, she travelled to Spain and Portugal with her friends. Jiji Press
