Japan Revises Down Coincident Index in Dec.

Tokyo- Japan's Cabinet Office said Monday it has revised down the composite index of coincident economic indicators for December.

The revised coincident CI, which reflects current economic conditions, stood at 120.2 against 100 for the base year of 2010, down from 120.7 in the preliminary report announced earlier this month. The index was up 2.3 points from the previous month, compared with the preliminary reading of a 2.8-point rise.

The leading CI, a yardstick for the economy's performance months ahead, was down 0.8 point at 107.4. In the preliminary report, the index fell 0.3 point to 107.9. Jiji Press
