Japan Revises Down Coincident Index in March

Tokyo- Japan's Cabinet Office said Thursday it has revised down the composite index of coincident economic indicators for March.
The revised coincident CI, which reflects current economic conditions, stood at 116.3 against 100 for the base year of 2010, down from 116.4 in the preliminary report announced earlier this month. The index was up 0.3 point from the previous month, compared with the preliminary reading of a 0.4-point rise.
The leading CI, a yardstick for the economy's performance months ahead, was down 1.5 points at 104.4. In the preliminary report, the index fell 0.9 point to 105.0. Jiji Press
