Japan to Offer Free Wi-Fi Services in All Shinkansen Trains

Tokyo- The Japanese government on Tuesday produced an annual action plan for tourism promotion, including a project to launch free Wi-Fi services in all Shinkansen bullet trains by the end of March 2019.
The free Wi-Fi services are aimed at improving the convenience of visitors to Japan and attracting more tourists to rural areas.
The government has set a goal of increasing the annual number of visitors to Japan to 40 million in 2020.
Under the action plan, the government will also develop face recognition gates at airports and provide multiple language services at tourism facilities. Jiji Press
