Japan to Send Relief Team to Disaster-Hit Indonesia

Tokyo- New Japanese Defense Minister Takeshi Iwaya issued an order on Wednesday to dispatch a disaster relief team of around 50 Self-Defense Force personnel to Indonesia, which was struck by a massive earthquake and tsunami.
Japan will send a C-130 aircraft of the Air SDF. The team will transport needed equipment and supplies to disaster-hit areas.
Specifically, the team will airlift relief goods collected in other parts of Indonesia to the severely damaged city of Palu. In addition, eight members will check the extent of the damage.
"We will make all-out efforts to support affected people," Iwaya told reporters at the Defense Ministry. Jiji Press
