Japan to Set Up Public-Private Task Force for Flying Cars

Tokyo- Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga unveiled a plan on Monday to establish by year-end a public-private task force with the aim of making flying cars a commercial reality.
From the government, the industry ministry and the transport ministry will take part in the task force.
In addition to their potential to ease traffic congestion in urban areas, flying cars could be used in times of disasters, for goods and personnel transportation to and from remote islands and mountain areas, and to help promote tourism, the top government spokesman told a press conference.
"Flying cars also has the potential to help resolve social issues in the future," he added.
In a similar move, the industry ministry began a study in March on putting flying cars into practical use. Jiji Press
