Japan, U.S., S. Korea Foreign Chiefs to Meet after Trump-Kim Summit

Tokyo- Japan, the United States and South Korea are considering holding a meeting of their foreign ministers in Seoul soon after the planned U.S.-North Korea summit in Singapore on June 12, Japanese government sources said Tuesday.
Japanese Foreign Minister Taro Kono, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and South Korean Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha will share the outcome of the meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, the sources said.
The three ministers will also discuss measures that their countries should take to realize the denuclearization of North Korea, following the historic U.S.-North Korea summit, according to the sources.
Kono is expected to visit Seoul on June 13, the sources said, while pointing to a possibility of the schedule for the foreign ministers' meeting being reviewed depending on the course of the Trump-Kim meeting.
The Japanese minister is set to visit the United States for four days from Wednesday, ahead of the U.S.-North Korea summit. Kono is set to hold a meeting with Pompeo on Wednesday and join Thursday's meeting between Trump and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. Jiji Press
