Japan urges Iran to abide by nuclear deal
July 9, 2019
Tokyo--Japan has strongly urged Iran again to abide by the 2015 nuclear agreement and refrain from further actions that undermine it, Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga said Tuesday.
At a press conference, Suga said he is "very concerned" over Iran's suggestion that it may enrich uranium further after breaching the limit set under the nuclear deal.
Reiterating Japan's support for the nuclear agreement, Suga said, "We'll continue to make steady diplomatic efforts to ease tensions and achieve stability in the Middle East in collaboration with other countries and international organizations concerned." Jiji Press
