Japan Welcomes N. Korea’s Dismantling of Nuclear Site
May 14, 2018
Tokyo- Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga welcomed on Monday North Korea's pledge to destroy its nuclear test site in Punggye-ri, a northern part of the country.
"We welcome the move as symbolizing its forward-looking stance, which was also shown in the inter-Korean summit," said Suga.
North Korea also announced on Saturday that it will invite international media to witness the dismantling of its nuclear test site but excluded representatives from Japan from its invitation list.
"I am not in the position to discuss its intention," Suga said. "Japan should take a firm stance, while not being disturbed by each action taken by North Korea." Jiji Press
