Japan’s Princess Kiko Leaves for Netherlands

Tokyo- Japanese Princess Kiko left Tokyo on Tuesday to make a private visit to the Netherlands for attending an international conference and other events.
The wife of Prince Akishino, the second son of Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko, departed aboard a commercial flight from Tokyo International Airport at Haneda.
This is her first solo visit abroad after getting married to Prince Akishino.
Princess Kiko, who serves as president of the Japan Anti-Tuberculosis Association, will take part in the 49th Union World Conference on Lung Health in The Hague, the Netherlands, on Wednesday.
She will attend a ceremony to present the Princess Chichibu Global Memorial TB Award on Thursday and will receive an honorary member title from the International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease at a ceremony on Friday.
The princess will return home on Sunday. Jiji Press
