Japan’s Princess Mako leaves for Peru, Bolivia

Tokyo--Japanese Princess Mako, the eldest daughter of Crown Prince Akishino and Crown Princess Kiko, left Narita International Airport near Tokyo on Tuesday to kick off a two-week tour of Peru and Bolivia.
During her official visits, the princess will attend ceremonies commemorating the 120th anniversary of the arrival of Japanese immigrants in the two countries, as well as meet their presidents. She will also visit Machu Picchu, a UNESCO World Heritage site in Peru.
This is Princess Mako's third trip to the continent, after her visits to Paraguay in 2016 and Brazil in 2018.
She will arrive in Lima, Peru, on Tuesday after a layover in Houston, and enter Bolivia next Monday. She will return to Japan on July 22. Jiji Press
