Kabuki star Ebizo resolved to play mom as well

Tokyo- Kabuki star Ichikawa Ebizo XI expressed on his blog on Saturday his resolve to play the role of mother, after the death of his wife, newscaster Mao Kobayashi, on Thursday.
In a blog post, titled "Daddy will play mom," 39-year-old Ebizo, who has two children, a son and a daughter, said, "I'll work harder than before in my job and on the stage."
"But from today, though little by little, I will make onigiri (rice balls)...Daddy will play mom as well from today," he wrote. A photo of him and his daughter was uploaded with the blog story.
In another article on Saturday, titled, "The power of my children is my hope," Ebizo said, "Please support the kids...I'll live, taking over Mao's thought about what she wanted to be if she got well." (Jiji Press)
