LDP Nikai dissatisfied with Japan, U.S. inaction over North Korea
August 16, 2019
Tokyo--Toshihiro Nikai, a top executive of Japan's ruling Liberal Democratic Party, expressed Friday dissatisfaction with what he sees as the inaction of Tokyo and Washington over a series of recent projectile launches by North Korea.
Both the Japanese and U.S. governments are taking a wait-and-see stance, at least on the surface, Nikai, LDP secretary-general, said at a party meeting following Pyongyang's firing of two projectiles early Friday morning.
The situation cannot be overlooked as North Korea is apparently advancing its missile capabilities steadily, he said, adding that Pyongyang is believed to be testing at least three new types of ballistic missiles. Jiji Press
