N. Korea’s missile launches “extremely problematic:” Suga

March 30, 2020

Tokyo--Japan's Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga denounced on Monday North Korea's launch of objects believed to be short-range ballistic missiles the previous day.

"The missile launches are a violation of U.N. Security Council resolutions and are extremely regrettable," Suga told a press conference.

The missile launches are "a dangerous action extremely problematic in terms of securing the safety of aircraft and vessels," Suga said.

Asked about North Korea's intent, Suga declined to give a categorical answer on behalf of the government.

According to North Korea's official Korean Central News Agency, the reclusive state's Academy of National Defense Science successfully conducted a test firing of a "superlarge" multiple-rocket launch system on Sunday. Jiji Press
