N. Korea’s Possible Role in Cryptocurrency Theft in Japan Reported

Seoul- A South Korean intelligence agency told a parliamentary committee on Monday that North Korea is believed to have played a role in last month's massive cryptocurrency heist in Japan, the South's Yonhap news agency reported.
The National Intelligence Service reported North Korea's possible involvement in the case at a meeting of the National Assembly's intelligence committee, Yonhap quoted a committee member as saying.
Tokyo cryptocurrency exchange operator Coincheck Inc. lost 58 billion yen worth of customer assets in the Jan. 26 hacker attack.
According to the NIS, North Korea last year stole cryptocurrencies worth 26 billion won in a hacker attack on a South Korean exchange. Jiji Press
