Pompeo Likely to Visit Japan in Early July

Tokyo- U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is expected to visit Japan in early July for talks with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and Foreign Minister Taro Kono, Japanese government sources said Friday.
Pompeo is expected to travel to North Korea next week to discuss the denuclearization of the country. His trip to Japan is likely to be immediately after the North Korea visit.
Pompeo and the Japanese officials are expected to discuss the outcome of his North Korea visit, the sources said.
This will be Pompeo's first official visit to Japan. Nothing has been decided so far, Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga told a press conference. Jiji Press
