Preparations under way to hold Tokyo Games as planned: Abe

Tokyo--Preparations are progressing to hold the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics this summer as scheduled, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said Friday.
At a House of Councillors committee meeting, Abe denied that the spread of the new coronavirus is affecting preparations for the Tokyo Games.
Referring to the International Olympic Committee's plan to continue preparations for the Summer Olympics, Abe said, "We're not having discussions that assume postponement or cancellation." Jiji Press
