Proportion of successful female gov’t job applicants hits record

TOKYO- Women accounted for a record 33.8 pct of successful applicants for noncareer Japanese government jobs in the fiscal 2017 examinations, the National Personnel Authority said Wednesday.
The total number of successful applicants declined by 378 from the previous year to 7,205, including 2,435 women.
The proportion of women was up 0.2 percentage point. Jiji Press
