August 17, 2018
Tokyo- A public-private survey team on Thursday postponed a planned visit to Russian-controlled islands called the Northern Territories in Japan due to bad weather.
The team planned to leave Nemuro, eastern Hokkaido, on the day for a five-day tour to conduct a survey for proposed joint economic activities between Japan and Russia around the northwestern Pacific islands.
The team, led by Eiichi Hasegawa, special adviser to Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, is considering whether to start the visit on Friday. Jiji Press
