SAO PAULO- A Japanese emergency relief team completed Monday its search-and-rescue mission in Mexico City, which was hit by a 7.1-magnitude earthquake a week ago.
The team arrived in the Mexican capital on Thursday, found the body of a woman on Friday and rescued a dog from under the wreckage on Sunday.
The death toll in the disaster has risen to 325, according to rescue authorities.
Local officials said searches for survivors are still going on in some parts of Mexico City but that the work to remove the wreckage has started at most of building collapse sites. Jiji Press
